Sometimes we eat out of compulsion. When we are bored we eat. When we are lonely we eat. When we are facing an uncertain situation we eat. In social settings we eat. But, are we ever full? Are we truly being satisfied?
Revelation 7:16-17 King James Version (KJV)
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Can food truly fulfill the human body? Can the temporary pleasure of food sustain the constant cravings of the flesh? The answer is no. We are spiritual beings living a natural experience. Thus, we crave connection to the Spirit, that is, the Holy Spirit of God. We must feed on the word of God, spend time in meditation with God, and spend time with God in spirit and in truth. Without it, we will constantly crave things of the flesh (food, depression, porn, drugs, negativity, alcohol, drama, etc). Those things will never satisfy.
