Matthew 24: 14 declares that “this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
Despite what your favorite prophet has said about the world ending next month or even a specific date, there is an exceptionally large number of people who do not know Christ. God uses His followers to share the good news of eternal life through a relationships with Jesus. The world is filled with many tactics to lead people from Christ so we must be the light and shine through the darkness and be the salt and helps others taste and see that the Lord is good.
What that means is that Christ’s disciples have work to do. Missions is one of the many ways God uses man to mend the relationship between his Lordship and his children. What we do know about the Fall is that the enemy, Satan, alienated mankind from God and one another. It is easy to think, that is not my problem I have to worry about my own family and community. It is easy to convince yourself out of sight of mind. However, as a follower of Christ you should desire than everyone, not just your friends and family know the love of Christ.
Missions is not just a New Testament evangelistic Christian concept. God commanded us to go therefore” in Genesis when he sent Abraham and his family from his land to share his faith in ONE God. While others in the near East worships many gods, idols, and followed many paths, God's chosen children believed in the Lord God. God commanded Abraham to “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing (Matthew 12:1-2)."
As descendants of Abraham we share in this duty to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” The Great Commission
Out of the 7.5 billion people on the earth 3.15 of those peoples do not know the gospel of Jesus Christ.
That is 42.2 % of earth’s inhabitants that do not know Christ. This is why we must evangelize beyond our borders. This is why I plan to be a part of God’s plan to restore mankind back to a fruitful and loving relationship with His Lordship through global missions.
