CHECKING OFF MY BUCKET LIST ONE WEEKEND AT A TIME #20SOMETHINGS

September 5, 2017

I spent my Labor Day weekend not doing any labor and enjoying nature. I believe when you live in big cities like Atlanta it is easy to get stuck int the routine of going to brunch or the mall, but Atlanta has a lot of marvelous outdoor sites for people of all ages.

I decided to head over to Botanical Gardens of Atlanta. The price was advertised as 21.95$ but we ended up paying closer to 25.00$ with tax. This was one part of the adventure I did not enjoy. Along with that parking was about 15$, but could have been less if we parked on the street and walked in. I will keep that in mind next time we go.

Next time I go to the Gardens I plan to bring my own food and drinks, possibly a blanket and a book. The Gardens is very relaxing and one could get lost spending time in there taking it all in. It is not a quick type of day so if you go plan to be there for a few hours. For the price I paid I wanted to touch every crevice and corner of the museum.

What I love the most about the Gardens was that it had several open lawns to lay out with a picnic basket and enjoy the scenery. They also had water stations along the trails. Even though it was shaded because of the huge trees it was definitely hot. All and all it took about 3 hours to observe the entire park and we also took a lunch break. They also had several spots to grab a bite to eat and they are all central to every major landmark at the Gardens. The other part I enjoyed was that it was adult friendly. Several patrons walked around with wine glasses while they toured the exhibit. There was also a kids zone specifically for the little ones. Lastly, there were several bathrooms location conveniently along the trails. With all the hydrating and wine tasting the easily accessible bathrooms make the Botanical a must see for any #20somethings.
